The overwhelming feeling is real lately.
We still haven’t gotten everything organized, we have decided to pull the kids from daycare in a month, my husband just worked 16 days in a row and I may have bought a couple more baskets the last time I went to the dollar store.
I am in a frantic state of trying to organize our house and get everything put away while also planning how I’m going to entertain my kids every day, all day.
I would be lying if I said I haven’t been feeling extremely anxious about this change.
I love seeing my kids play and enjoy our space, but having a messy house also causes me extreme anxiety and stress. So how exactly are those two things going to coexist… haha.
I have done a few drastic things, some might say but I think it’s worth a shot.
I put almost all of my kids’ toys into bins in the storage room, only leaving a few things out in a couple of spaces. I created a craft cart with art supplies and colouring books. I bought a sensory table that one day I will actually fill, but so far it just sits in the corner.
Basically, I am trying to organize and prepare for every possible thing before the kids are home full time because apparently that is how I deal with being overwhelmed.
The kids are very excited to be home with Mom and I have to keep reminding myself that a home is just a home.
It’s going to get messy.
They’re going to be loud.
I am probably going to lose my mind some days.
And I’m going to have to figure out how to be okay with all of that.
